WORKS
Big Ol' House
I am inspired by the uniqueness of turn-of-the century houses. The myriad of shadows and the contrast of values of their settings make them a joy to paint. This house was located in Waxahachie, TX.
Pages 1- 10 are new works of the last 6-9 months. Page 12 and 13 is a montage of earlier works. Pages 14 & 15 are recent abstract works.
Feed Mill Cafe 2
Inspired by a trip to central Texas Hill country. The scene was a former feed mill converted into a restaurant in Johnson City, TX.
Hopson Dentistry
This is a converted Texas historical home in Bonham, Texas that now serves as a Dentist's office. The bright colors seemed more interesting to me to show off the cast shadows,
Sittin' & Rockin' X 2
This scene I found interesting for the stark contrast of the chairs against the shadows under the porch. The cast shadows of the trees added an interesting light pattern also.
Mineloa, TX Street Fair
This scene was captured on a trip to east Texas. I was intrigued by the people taking in the events and the contrast of the sunlit and shadows,
Peppers
I painted this after reading Robert Burridge's "Twenty Top Secrets for Loosening Up". I wanted to protray the subject in an impressionistic way mainly focusing on bright saturated color.
Tomatoes
This painting was also an ifluence from Robert Burridge. It felt liberating to paint with freedom and not worry about the details. I was only interested in displaying bright saturated colors and value.
The Guardian
This was taken from a very contrasty and blurry photo. I liked the architecture of the barn and worked on the composition and design to make it more appealing and intersting.
The Watering Cans
I was intrigued by this scene at a gardening center. The watering cans made an intersisting group of shapes and shadows.
Oil Field Thingy
I came upon this scene in north west Texas returning from a recent paint out. I was intrigued by the landscape and the stark jutting object against a rainy sky.
King of the Mountain
This is an attempt to introduce a variety of color into a somewhat colorless subject. The source for this had the fur of the animal about the same value and color as the background.

These non objective works represent a recent journey into experimenting with other media and trying to see where the paint and brush will take me.
